emergencies and disasters.

day as well as in emergencies.
- Resource for community workers, such as school counselors, librarians,
discharge nurses & other helping professionals, to assist others.

more effective & less expensive intervention as well as
identification of areas in need of additional resources.

- Over 1,500 social service and emergency professionals attended
informational meetings in locations across Arizona to discuss the
development of Arizona 2-1-1 Online.
- In addition to ongoing advice from the Community Advisory Committee,100
leaders from government and community groups participated in
qualitative and community testing of Arizona 2-1-1 Online.
- Public meetings were held in 2003, 2004 and 2005 to help manage
expectations and provide a forum for public feedback
- Discussions in these meetings helped define the State’s plans as the
system evolved.

- The 2-1-1 EBS system was developed by the State agencies involved in
emergency management, the Red Cross and Salvation Army.
- The Division of Emergency Management (ADEM) administers the EBS system.
- The EBS team developed a Standard Operating Procedures Manual to define
coverage, posting, protocols and other system requirements.
- The EBS team is conducting outreach to local, county, state &
tribal emergency managers to encourage them to send bulletins for
posting to the system.

- Provide the citizens of Arizona a one-stop shop for information -
protective measures, life-safety, response and recovery efforts - about
an emergency event.
- Provide volunteer, local, county, state and tribal emergency response
agencies with a statewide resource to reach the public with emergency
information.
- Help relieve the burden on the 9-1-1 system by addressing non-9-1-1
emergency needs.
- Promote emergency preparedness for citizens, communities and
businesses.

roads
